Your IQ Isn't As Important As Your "I Can"

The most common thing people tell us when they hesitate is some version of this:

"I am not really a numbers person."

Good news. Neither is most of the room.

This is not an intelligence test. It is a rule-following test.

A few days ago a brand new member posted his first result from his first day:

That is it. That is the whole skill, described accurately by someone on day one.

The setup is defined. The entry is defined. The exit is defined. Somebody says it out loud, live, while it is happening.

Your job is to do the thing you already agreed to do, at the moment you said you would do it.

That sounds easy. It is the hardest part, and it has nothing to do with being clever.

We have watched brilliant people struggle here because they wanted to outthink the setup. And we have watched people who call themselves bad at math do amazing because when the rule said go, they went.
