Why We Turned Down $20k

Have you ever worked at your job and had to interact with a customer who you REALLY wished wasn’t a customer at all?

Like – if this person went to a competitor, your life would be SO much less stressful?

Now what if that customer paid you extra for your efforts? 

Would that be worth it?

I suppose it really depends on how much stress that person brings into your life.

If you’re a business owner, you know VERY well what I’m talking about and you also know that no amount of money is actually worth it.

Before showing people how to trade and build wealth with the markets, we ran a marketing agency.

Early on in that partner ship we were presented with a great opportunity.

That opportunity was to do marketing for a lady who was a 5 time NYT best selling author and featured on Oprah twice.

She was kind of a big deal and was willing to pay us $20k for 2 months of our services.

We were a new company, but not new to business.

For any new company, $20k is very helpful in moving the company in the right direction..

…But there was a problem.

We knew (just from meeting her) that she was going to be a pain in our rear-ends for the next 2 months.

We had a moment of asking ourselves – is the money worth it?

Because of our past experiences working with people like that, we decided it was NOT worth it.

We turned her down as “not a good fit”.

Fast forward less than a week and we signed on a different client for almost the same amount of money, but this guy was AWESOME to work with.

The lesson learned is that sometimes money is NOT the focus.

Sometimes our own sanity and well-being need to play a role and even be prioritized.

That’s when we developed our own Mission, Vision, and Values system.

Now, whenever anyone is looking into our trading systems, they MUST align with our mission, vision, and values.

If they don’t, we WILL turn them away as “not a good fit”.

We’ve had people many times over the years want to get into our community and were waving their cash in our faces…

…But we protect our community and we are Totally fine with turning down someone who doesn’t align.

So, who IS a good fit?

We want people in our community who have a heart to help.

The reality is we know when people make money their own characteristics get magnified…

…We just want that magnification to be to help people.

Our community is the best in the world full of families building wealth and helping others.
