Why Saving Isn’t Enough Anymore

The truth is, trading is about a whole lot more than just “buying low and selling high.” It’s about overcoming inflation and taxes before they eat away everything you’ve worked for your entire life.

Take the story of a man in Japan who spent 21 years meticulously saving every yen he earned.

Living a frugal life in a tiny dormitory, eating the simplest meals, and scavenging for used appliances, he managed to save over ¥135 million—about $1 million.

But as inflation rose and the yen depreciated, he saw the value of his savings shrink, leaving him with the harsh realization that all those years of sacrifice weren’t worth it.
