Why I Love Death And Taxes lol

Financial freedom isn’t just about making more money. It’s about reclaiming the time that money once controlled.

Because we can always earn more...

But what we can’t do is buy back the years we wasted chasing the wrong things.

A while back, I visited my grandmother in the hospital.

She was in her 90s. Sharp as ever, but tired.

We both knew it was getting close.

At one point, I asked her if she was afraid.

She smiled, shook her head, and said something I’ll never forget:

“Death is the easy part.

Regret is what keeps me up at night.”

That one sentence hit harder than anything the doctors could have said.

Because deep down, I knew I wasn’t really living either.

I was existing.

Busy. Productive. Responsible.

But not alive.

Sigmund Freud once said,

“The aim of all life is death.”

Maybe not something you want printed on a coffee mug –

But true nonetheless.

We all end up in the same place eventually.

And on the way there, we’re taxed for the privilege of even trying.

I used to dread both.

Death made me anxious.

Taxes made me feel poor.

But now?

I see them as reminders.

Death reminds me to live with urgency.

To use my time wisely.

To spend my hours doing things that matter…

Not just clocking in, paying bills, and waiting for retirement.

Taxes remind me how far I’ve come.

That I’m building something real.

That financial freedom doesn’t need a 40-hour work week.

That even after I’m gone I’ll leave behind a legacy for my children.

You see, for me this was never about beating the system.

It was about escaping it –

So I could not only enjoy my life,

but create something meaningful along the way as well…

For myself, for my family,

and for the children my children have after I’m gone.

Turns out, you don't need to have some sort of “gift” or natural inclination towards numbers to be highly profitable in trading.

I'm living proof of that.

In fact, by the time I finally found trading, I was really just looking for something to get me out of my dead end job – and the continual cycle of burnout I was trapped in.

I’d already tried a parade of “opportunities” –

each one promising freedom, flexibility, and “unlimited income potential” (yeah right, lol)…

only to deliver stress, confusion, and the sinking feeling that I was right back where I started.
